Types of UPVC Door Handles
If your door handle made of uPVC needs replacing it's essential to find the right replacement for your home. A locksmith can provide and install high-security uPVC door handles that come with additional security features.

The most important measurements are measurement A (known as PZ) and the length of the backplate (measurement F). Take these measurements to make sure your new uPVC handle will fit.
Lever/Lever
A lever is a rigid rod that pivots around an object. When you apply force to the end, the fulcrum will move in the direction of the force is applied. This motion increases the applied force which allows you to lift or move something that would require a greater amount of force if you tried to apply directly to the load.
The distance between the fulcrum of the lever and the point where you apply force determines the most effective movement. This is known as the mechanical advantage. The more the lever extends the greater the advantage in terms of mechanical. You can calculate mechanical advantage by dividing the distance from fulcrum point to the place where you are applying force by the distance between the fulcrum's point and the end of the lever.
Levers can also have a variety of effects depending on how the forces are applied. For instance a lever of class 2 tends to rotate in the opposite direction to when the force of effort is applied (like a totter-totter). If you push on the handle of a door the force will create similar rotational effects to this.
However, levers don't create energy. Levers multiply the force by making small amounts of effort applied over a longer distance into larger amounts of force applied over smaller distances. Levers are used to lift heavy objects and move large amounts of cargo. The principle of the lever is also used in everyday tools like crowbars. Hammer claws fishing rods, hammer claws and even your own legs, as you are standing on the hand brake of your car.

They come in a variety of designs and finishes and can be used with a variety of materials including UPVC, Aluminium & Timber doors. They are sold in pairs for both the doors, both exterior and interior, with spindles and screws included. They are available in both hand and unhandled versions to accommodate different types of users.
They are typically used for new constructions and can be used to replace the doors made of upvc. The levers are raised to open all multipoint locks and the key is turned to close or unlock the door. They provide a bit more security than the standard lever handles for doors because locking is only done by the inside using keys.
They are not as secure as a cylinder bolt, but are a cost-effective alternative to add security. The only downside is that they don't offer the same level of protection as a cylinder bolt and therefore don't stop external access when the door is left open.

Lever/Snib
Lever latches are the simplest type of door handles. By pressing down on the lever, it triggers a simple latch mechanism inside the door to keep it closed, which can be locked with keys. Some lever privacy handles work similar to the doorknob, but with an additional snib, which is similar to the doorknob.

This type of handle can also be used for doors in the interior, like those in bedrooms where you want to restrict outside access.
Snib buttons may cause problems in certain situations, particularly when you have old locks and doors that are warped. If the snib is used accidentally or by someone who isn't quite used to it, the door can close and lock you out. You can usually gain entry by knocking the door frame or the letterbox. But, this is not ideal.
